First Look Of Soori’s Film Released, Check Poster Here
Soori has teamed up with filmmaker Durai Senthilkumar for his upcoming movie as a lead actor. The makers of the movie revealed the title on January 19. As a result, Soori’s movie with director Durai Senthilkumar is titled “Garudan,” and the intriguing title tease suggests an action packed rural entertainment. In the first-look poster, Soori is shown respectfully standing behind Sasikumar and Unni Mukundan.
The directors of Soori’s film which is about to schedule, Garudan, have unveiled a first look poster and a preview video. The film is directed by RS Durai Senthilkumar, who has previously helmed films like Pattas, Kodi, and Ethir Neechal. It also stars Sasikumar and Unni Mukundan in lead parts.

What Vetrimaaran said about Soori’s film?
The story is directed by Vetrimaaran, and its screenplay is written by Durai. Speaking oppenly about how the collaboration, Durai says, “When we were wrapping Viduthalai, I was offered a film with Soori sir in the lead. Incidentally, Vetri sir had narrated a story about an interesting character he met in his life, and I decided to take up that character for my film with Soori. So Vetri sir is credited for the story, while I have penned the screenplay.”
As Durai reveals the movie storyline, the director discloses that the movie is a rural actioner. “Garudan is a story about loyalty. The film will revolve around the trust and faith one has in a fellow human being,” he adds. “Although the character is based on a real-life person, the story is entirely fictional,” he further added.
Regarding the film’s main cast, Durai explains that Unni Mukundan was chosen since they needed a new face. “We wanted to have an interesting cast lineup for the film. When we were finalizing the cast, Unni Mukundan’s Maalikapuram had just been released, and his look felt suitable and fresh for the role.”
Among the other actors in Garudan are Rajendran, Samuthirakani, Sshivada Nair, Revathi Sharma, and Mime Gopi. According to Durai, Sshivada plays Sasikumar’s pair in the female roles, while Revathi Sharma is Soori’s companion.
The movie’s soundtrack was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, and it will have editing and cinematography by Pradeep E. Raghav and Arthur A. Wilson.
The majority of the filming took place at Theni, with a tiny amount also taking place in Kumbakonam. Lark Studios’ K Kumar supports Garudan. “Garudan is presently in the post-production phase. “We’re currently in the post-production stage of Garudan. The film is slated for a Summer release and will likely hit the big screens by April,” Durai Concludes.

Actor and comedian Ramalakshmanan Muthuchamy, better known by his stage name Soori, works primarily in the Tamil cinema industry.
In 1996, Soori relocated to Chennai from Madurai with the goal of breaking into the Tamil film business as an actor. He started working as a cleaner in the city to support his acting career after he was unable to secure any parts.
He occasionally played uncredited supporting roles in comedic films, such as Winner (2003), where he played a young performer.
Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu (2009) featured Soori. The “parotta competition” scene, in which he stuns the hotelier by eating 50 parottas and preparing to eat the same number again, is where he received the suffix “Parotta” to his name. He made his several appearances in Sundarapandian (2012), Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam (2013), Pandiya Naadu (2013), and Jilla (2014), among the films. He acted in four films: Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran (2016), Sangili Bungili Kadhava Thorae (2017), Rajini Murugan (2016), and Idhu Namma Aalu (2016).
He appeared in Saamy Square (2018) by Vikram and Seema Raja (2018) by Sivakarthikeyan. His roles in these two movies, though, drew harsh criticism. Soori released Namma Veettu Pillai and Sangathamizhan in 2019 back-to-back.
In the historical criminal thriller Viduthalai Part 1 (2023) directed by Vetrimaaran, Soori portrayed the lead character. Both spectators and critics gave his performance very positive reviews.
